Hello! Thank you for your interest in being a volunteer at Pass the Chord! We are a nonprofit organization with a mission of empowering youth to discover music, cherish moments, and pass the chord. To bring our mission to life, we are seeking a team of dedicated volunteers to help support our programs and initiatives. By joining our teams, you will earn verified volunteer hours and gain valuable experience to highlight on college applications!

Performance Volunteer
What you'll do
- Showcase your musical talents at community events, recitals, and showcases
- Engage the audience and help bring our mission to life through music
- Collaborate with other performers and the event team to ensure smooth execution
What you should bring
- Proficiency in playing an instrument or singing
- Confidence when performing for an audience
- Reliability and punctuality
- Positive, collaborative attitude
Fundraiser Volunteer
What you'll do
- Assist with general fundraising initiatives, instrument donation drives, and special events
- Help set up, manage, and break down fundraising events
- Spread the word about fundraisers and other events to gain community support
What you should bring
- High-energy personality
- Willingness to help
- Strong communication skills
- Problem-solving and teamwork skills
Online Resources Volunteer
What you'll do
- Create, format, and organize digital learning materials (sheet music and educational video tutorials)
- Update and refine your content based on feedback
What you should bring
- Strong music theory understanding
- Proficiency with digital platforms
- Attention to detail
- Creativity
Tutoring Volunteer
What you'll do
- Provide one-on-one music lessons to younger kids and beginners
- Guide students through basic music theory, proper technique, and foundational instrumental skills
- Create a welcoming and encouraging environment for beginners
What you should bring
- A deep understanding of your respective instrument
- Experience with teaching, or a willingness to learn
- High levels of patience, empathy, and clear communication
- Reliability, consistency, and a passion for education
